MATHEMATICS:
As we all know that SSC CGL Maths pattern has been shifted to more calculative questions, the first thing you need to do is to increase your calculation speed. Use pen and paper for calculations, learn Square and cubes, roots and tables. Some basic fraction and percentage must be in your mind, but all this will help you at the exam hall only when you practice maths Questions.
1) Basics (Previous Papers) for SSC CGL 2018 Maths Paper:
Since you guys might have already cleared or hoping to clear SSC CGL Tier 1, therefore we are not quoting basic books like R S Agarwal or M Tyra. Now, your first step towards Tier 2 Maths must be to cover all previous year questions of SSC CGL (Specially Mains) and recently conducted Tier -1 + Tier-2 papers in online mode. This will not only cover your basics but will give you a fair idea about the type and level of questions asked in SSC CGL exams. Give more emphasis on recently conducted exams. You must be fast to cover these books and revise it as many times as you gain confidence.

2) Targetted Books for SSC CGL 2018 Maths Paper:
After completing and grasping previous year question papers you should prepare through books written by subject teachers of SSC. Although these books are bit outdated, as of now there is no book available exactly the way SSC is asking questions. After grasping these books your confidence will rise and you will be able to solve even some more difficult questions. You are also requested to keep your basics clear and do not rely on shortcuts, always solve a question by basics first and then try for shortcuts if possible. practice this consistently and you may also derive your own shortcuts. Please do not try to derive short cuts while appearing for the actual exam.

Basically, this section does not require any book, in recent SSC Exams, it was seen that passages were asked directly from The Hindu or India Express Newspaper articles. It is highly advised to make reading a habit, read whatever you like, for the practice you may use books of any publications. I would recommend going with previous years papers, which will also cover other parts of English as well as Comprehension part.
