SSC CGL Tier II 2017 Exam – Section-Wise Preparation Tips

Quantitative Aptitude

· Focus more on Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry and Mensuration (Advance Maths)

· Practice the previous year papers as questions are usually repeated

· Identify your weak areas and attempt more questions from those topics to gain confidence

· Revise all formulas and workout as many mocktests you can to improve your speed and accuracy.

English Language Comprehension

· Strictly stick to the given passage while answering

· Reading comprehension passages can range from a variety of topics like Philosophy, Psychology, Economics, Politics. Pick the one that you are more comfortable with.

Statistics

· Revise all school level math books (10, 11 & 12 standard) and solve statistics section questions

· Focus more on data collection, sorting data, graphs, charts, mean, median, mode etc.

· As this section includes a lot of tabulation of data, you need to concentrate on memorizing the formulas along with regular mock attempts

· Aim at attempting 60-65 questions at least to get a good accuracy and clear the cut-off.

General Studies (Finance and Economics) for AAO

· Go through all the previous year papers

· Read newspapers (especially last 4-5 months) and stay updated with all latest news

· Follow NCERT Books of Class 11th and 12th and also read financial magazines on a regular basis, especially in the last few weeks before the exam.
