Hello Friends,

Today is first day of the highly competitive and most popular SSC CGL (2017) Examination. SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 exam will be held from 5th August 2017 to 25th august 2017. In this post we are sharing SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 Exam Review and analysis. This review is prepared based on the feedback received from the candidates appeared in CGL 2017 examination.

Exam Pattern : (SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1)

Exam duration is of 60 minutes (1 Hour).
The Total Number of Questions for the Exam is: 100
The Total Marks for the Exam is: 200
Negative Marking for every wrong answer : 0.50

REVIEW and ANALYSIS OF SSC CGL 2017 TIER-I (Shift-1) 05-08-2017

Timing and Punctuality:

SSC was very strict about punctuality, the aspirants reached after 9:30 a.m. for morning shift (batch-1) were not allowed.

Server Speed:

The overall review regarding SSC Server was good. Server Speed was much better than previous years.

Review and Analysis of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 (General Intelligence and Reasoning)

Paper pattern and level of questions were same as previous years. Questions from Analogy and classification section were higher. An attempt of 20-22 questions with high accuracy will be considered good. No surprises in this section.

Review and Analysis of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 (General Awareness - GK)

Questions from Science portion were dominant in this section. As usual 3-4 current questions were also asked. An attempt of 14-16 questions with good accuracy will be considered good.

Constituents of Smog
Minimum Age for Vice President
Unit of force?
One question on Demand curve
One question on cation
India stadium hosting it's 1st Test match in 2016
One question on Author of some Novel ?

Review and Analysis of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 (Quantitative Aptitude - Maths)

This year level of maths questions were easy-moderate. Although Questions were moderate, they were not as easy as asked on CGL 2016. An attempt of 20-22 questions with high accuracy will be considered good.

Review and Analysis of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 (English Comprehension)

This section has new surprises this CGL. There were 5 questions asked from Voice and naration. Cloze test and para-jumble questions were also asked. Vocabulary section repeated previous questions along with some new questions. No questions on reading Comprehension were asked. An attempt of 18-20 questions with good accuracy will be considered good.
