SSC CGL 2017 Tier-2 Maths Exam Review (17th Feb 2018)

Hello Friends,

As we all know that today (17-02-2018) onwards SSC CGL 2017 Tier-2 exam is getting started. Many Candidates appeared for this exam on day 1 and many more will appear in it on coming days. In this post we have given overall exam review and questions asked on SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2, based on Students Feedback.






Exam Pattern : (SSC CGL 2017 Tier-2 Paper-1)
  • Exam duration is of 120 minutes (2 Hour).
  • The Total Number of Questions for the Exam is: 100
  • The Total Marks for the Exam is: 200
  • Negative Marking for every wrong answer: -0.50


Timing and Punctuality: 

  • Maths : 10:30 to 12:30
  • English : 3:15 to 5:15 (PM)

SSC is very strict about punctuality, the aspirants reached after 10:00 a.m. for Maths) were not allowed.


Server and Center Management:

The overall review regarding SSC Server was good. Server Speed was quite improved and better than previous years.

Cheating and other irregularities: 

This time SSC took it very sincerely. There were multiple frisking and it was done properly.  Lab assistants were also active in most centers.


Maths (Quantitative Aptitude) 

REVIEW:
  • Level of paper 1 (Maths) was Moderate
  • Paper seems to be slightly higher difficulty level as seen in SSC CGL 2016 Tier-2 exam. 
  • Questions asked were Totally New,  and this is the reason aspirants found the paper to be on tougher side.
  • We advise to have basics clear questions asked are non-repetative and based on concepts.
  • Its time to revise the basics of Advance Maths.

Easy Questions : 60
Moderate Questions : 25
Tough Questions : 15

Ideal attempt 70-80 with 90% accuracy.

REVIEW OF PAPER 1
  • Questions on Mensuration were lengthy.
  • Trigonometry Questions were a bit tricky and time- consuming.
  • Arithmetcs questions were easier than Advanced Maths portion.

  1. In a triangle side AB= 5 Bc =8 Ac =√41 median through A is AD then find area of ABD
  2. A+B+AB =65 THEN A-B?
  3. Find the number between 1000 and 9999 which is divisible by 283
  4. Find the radius of sphere having surface area 3452cm square
  5. Two trains having speed _ km/h and _ km/h.If second train reaches destination late by 8 minutes than first one. Due to some technical failure on first train it now reaches destination late by 12 minutes.(qmaths). find out the distance between the two station?
  6. A certain amount is divided into 3 people. X gets 2/7 of what Y gets and Y gets 4/9 of what Z gets.. then by how much amount more Z gets than A
  7. What is the number of months which amounts to Rs___ compounded semi annually at the rate of 20%
  8. If (a+b)/c=7/9 and (b+c)/a=11/5.. the find the value of c
  9. If the ratio of curved surface area and total surface area of a cylinder is 2:1.. then find out the volume of the cylinder
  10. What is the rate of interest if the Simple interest is 8000 and the compound interest is 8164.. for two years.
  11. A sphere is put inside a hollow cone having base radius r. Then find out the ratio between the radius of sphere and the hollow cone
  12. What is the unit digit of the sum of first 111 whole numbers?
  13. If a cuboid having sides 30×50×40 is divided into 8 equal parts by cutting 3 times.. then find out the total surface area of all the parts
