RTI Queries: 

with regard to SSC CGL AAO 2017 notified vacancy. Need information for the following query

1. Please provide statewise vacancy details of Assistant Audit Officer notified in SSC CGL 2017.

2.How many attempts are given to the AAO to qualify the SAS exam.

3. What could possibly be his Designation, if he failed to qualify the SAS exam. 

4. Vacancy for Assistant Accounts Officer is nil, will it be notified later or stay nil.

5.The AAO mostly remains on tour, is he provided with extra allowance. if, yes then how much is the amount.

6.what is the difference between the work culture of commercial and civil departments of audit.

7.Is SAS exam is fully objective.

8. What are the promotion aspects after AAO.

9. Is it true that, after 4 year of service, AAO is provided 5400 grade pay salary.

10. Is AAO transferable job or not.



Reply :- I am to refer to your online applications under RTI dated 14.05.2019 received in this office on 16.05.2019. The information sought by you is as under:-

Point Information 

1. Requisition for filling up 600(UR-303,OBC-162,SC-90,ST-45) vacancies for the post of Assistant Audit Officer through CGLE-2017 have been placed by this office with the SSC. The State wise breakup of vacancies will be decided at the time of allocation of States to the candidates selected through CGLE 2017.

2. Direct recruits have to qualify the SAS examination during the period of probation for confirmation and regular appointment as AAO.

3. On failure to pass the SAS Examination during the period of probation, Direct recruits will be liable to be discharged from the service.

4. Vide this office letter dated 18.07.2019, a requisition has been placed with the Staff Selection Commission to fill up 170 vacancies for the post of assistant Accounts Officer through CGLE 2018.

5. The Information sought for by Shri Mohan Kumar is in nature of seeking clarification. The CPIO is not supposed to Analyze the situation and provide information in terms of section 2(j) of the RTI Act, 2005 and para 8 of DoPTs guidelines dated 27.02.2008, for officers designated as CPIO under the RTI Act 2005. However, a copy of the Ministry of Finance Department of Expenditure O M No 19030/1/2017-E.IV dated 13.07.2017 is being sent through email/registered post.

6. There is no set up such as commercial and civil departments of audit. This department conducts three types of audit financial compliance and performance audits. The guidelines related to types of audits mentioned above are available on the CAG website.

In addition to the above, duties and powers of the C&AG extend to the audit of the accounts of Government companies and are performed and exercised in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act 1956 (under section 619(3) (b) and 619 (4)of the Companies Act.

8. The promotion pattern of AAO is as:-

AAO to AO to Sr.AO to Induction to IA&AS subject to seniority and fitness.

9. The Information sought for by Shri Mohan Kumar is in nature of seeking clarification.
