Q) What is the approved criterion for Circle allocation?
(a) A candidate shall be allocated to a Postal Circle on the basis of her/his merit (rank), order of preference (option), and vacancy available at her/his tum in the category she/he has been selected. 
(b) Person with disabitity (PWD) candidates irrespective of their ranks will be allocated Postal Circle first followed by Exserviceman candidates. 
(c) After allocation of Circles to PWD candidates and Ex-serviceman candidates, remaining candidates will be allocated Postal Circles in the manner mentioned in para (a) above. 
(d) All such candidates who do not give any order of preference or are not allocated to any of the Postal Circle mentioned in their limited preference, shall be allocated to nearby Postal Circle from her/his home state subject to availability of vacancy in the category she/he has been selected, after allocation of Postal Circles to all other candidates.
Q) What is tentative timeline for issuance of offer of appointment by the Department to the candidates selected as PA/SA through CHSL,2015?
The receipt of dossiers for all 5203 candidates from Staff Selection Commission may take around 1.5-2 months, thereafter, once the dossiers are received, it will take approximately 3 months for calling preferences from the candidates and thereafter allocation of Postal Circles from the Directorate. Once the Circles are allocated, it may take around 2 months for issuing offer of appointment to the selected candidates by the respective Circle.
Q) Is there any bond need to be furnished at the time of joining?
The matter is still under consideration within the Department. Bond, if any, needs to be signed shall be provided by the respective Postal Circle at the time of completion of joining formalities.
Q) What is the promotional hierarchy for Postal Assistant?
As per the existing recruitment rules a Postal Assistant can get promoted to either Lower Selection Grade / Postmaster Grade I after completion of five years of service OR he/she becomes eligible to appear for Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for Inspector Posts after rendering five years of regular service in the PA cadre.
Q) What is the in hand salary of PA/SA?
The PA/SA are placed at Level-4 of the Pay Matrix 1Rs. 25500- Rs.81100) as per 7'h CPC along with the admissible allowances applicable depending upon the place of posting.

Q) What are the allowances applicable during in-house training? Are the candidates entitled for any stipend during the training period?
From the date of joining all candidates will be entitled to regular pay and allowances in the relevant pay band. No question of stipend arises.
Q) On what basis a candidate gets posting as PA or SA?
The criterion for posting of candidates as either PA or SA is yet to be decided. The matter is under consideration within the Department.
