Today we are sharing a letter dated 20-04-2017 from CBDT (HRD) to Under Secretary of SSC regarding the revised vacancies in the cadre of Inspectors and Tax Assistants in CBDT for SSC CGL 2016. Important:

Vacancy of Income Tax Inspector has been increased from 319 to 402. (92 Increased)
Vacancy of Tax Assistant has been increased from 629 to 898. (269 Increased)

But Before this Letter from CBDT (HRD)to Under Secretary SSC, there was an RTI reply shared which stated slightly higher vacancy for SSC CGL 2016 in CBDT.

In that RTI Reply

Vacancy of Income Tax Inspector was 407 which is now changed to 402 ( 5 Decreased )
Vacancy of Tax Assistant was 928 which is now changed to 898. ( 30 Decreased )
No Vacancy Reported in Ahmedabad Region.
